I did not download a really good HD copy of this movie through TPB. There won't be a link in the spoiler below sometime soon to the full length (2 hours) trailer.
I finished watching it, and I didn't really care for it much. The trailer is glorified to what the movie actually portrays. It doesn't show how young Tony Soprano would eventually become the boss. The ending is very shitty too, and much like The Sopranos, cuts out on a cliffhanger. There was hardly any whackings for a Mafia movie.
I was expecting to see different types of weapons being used, like knifes and Tommy guns, instead of just pistols and shotguns... Someone telling someone else, "Come on, sit in the front seat, enjoy the better view. I'll sit behind you." And then out comes a garotte halfway through the drive would have been a classic Italiano Mafioso way of whacking someone. Would have been awesome to see, but nope!
There were some scenes in the movie that reflect upon what was mentioned as memories in their childhood by both Tony and Janice, but only a couple at that.
Also, a lot of the actors who were portraying the younger charcters who would later be in The Sopranos who trying WAY too fucking hard to portray their Sopranos older version of their character, especially Silvio Dante. Junior Soprano was alright, sorta sounded like him too, but my fuck, the guy who played Silvio, was painful to watch. He has a VERY good Italian, "I don't give a fuck, I'm Italian." kinda attitude to him in The Sopranos... This actor though... My fuck!
And of course... Yes... The movie is kept up with today's racial standards. There are no Muslims or gays, or anything like that, but there are more blacks in the movie than there are
white people. I laughed my ass off when one of the Italians are passing through the riot, and an MP looks in his window, and says to the others, "He's white. Let him pass. Go ahead, sir." xD
Anyways, being Italian (by heritage) myself, and my ancestors having had... our thing, the movie was fucking awful, in my opinion from the true Italiano sense! Glad I got a discount on watching the movie, instead of wasting 15$.
I could say more into this review, but either you want to watch it or you don't. Take the chance; you could think different about the movie than I do.
6.5/10
