How To Make Deactivators/Activator code for your hacks MY WAY

"Sheesh BeanJr it's about time you post a tutorial" Oh shut up! HAHAHA! Anyways for anyone wondering how to create a "total deactivator code" I'll show you how to do it

you will need
- an SD card - doesn't matter if it's SDHC or not
- a computer with an SD reader
- Internet to download the files
- Knowing how to read and follow instructions

Firstly, I just wanted to give our good old hacker friend NinARM1 the credit for me being able to do this

Firstly download the files for the project. The first one to download is the Item generator program and vr/br hack generator program made by mdmwii. "Wait we aren't doing any of those here!" you may say. Well the reason to get this program is because of the button activator part. This program makes button activators so you won't have to say, stop driving just to press the buttons. You can get the program HERE

Okay so now that that's all out of the way, open up the program and create ONE item, or if you're super confident in knowing which code is which you can make two items (doesn't matter which ones) but the buttons will matter. Once you've finished following the instructions in the program, you will need to use this template

Now you're thinking "well I could just put the ORIGINAL code as the deactivator" WRONG!!!! You will need one more program for this task. It's called the Mario Kart Wii Code Generator made by Hamster35000vr. This program has all kinds of codes but the one we're going to be focussing on today is the race before countdown hack. This code we will be using is NTSCU

So here's our code

Again, you can keep putting more and more codes above the E0000000 00000000 line. As for item hacks, you may want to delete the E0000000 80008000 it usually gives you but keep the E000000...... Yeah I don't want to type it out again.

So now you're probably saying "COME ON BEAN GET TO THE DEACTIVATOR PART!!!!" OKAY OKAY let's jump to that!

The deactivator is WAY different from the original code

In the code generator go to tools>deactivator generator and paste the base code and pick the region that it belongs to. If you did it right, you should wind up with something like this

If you have more than one codes, you will have to do the same process for all of them. Now in case you are too lazy to find the activators, I've made some for my own needs. The following code is setup for the GCN controller and will need to have L+R+Z+DOWN to activate and L+R+Z+UP to deactivate

Okay so for those of you that don't want to make multiple button activators, you can use the following template

What this template does is allow you to use one button as a switch so if you press XYZ you can turn the hack on/off kinda like a light switch

Pretty good job but it only works for MKWii. Instead of using Hamster´s program someone could load a RAM Dump in HxD and look up the address to find the original value (deactivator) to stick into the code.

also, you can use the CC000000 00000000 line to deactivate the code with the same button...

You should color code it (makes it more interesting to look for me xD). As soon as i see tutorials for something this long, i just read 2 words and say good job.

I think this thread does indeed deserve one. I do learn something every day on the site except I still can't get that "+1" rule to work with the new item codes Bully has. I know this isn't the place to bring that up but I'll just use deXt0r's code

XXXX = controller address +1

ie. Controller address is 1234 then you add 1. 1234 is now 1235. Take out "XXXX" and add 1235 where the XXXX is.

ZZZZ = button activator

ie. 8000 is the button activator value. Take the button activator that you want and take out ZZZZ and put your button activator value where the ZZZZ was.

YYYY = Max Reverse

ie. Your button activator value is 1A2B. FFFF - 1A2B = YYYY

You only have to do the Max Reverse if you're pressing two or more buttons at the same time (I think). If you aren't using two or more buttons for the button activator line, then leave it as "0000", unless otherwise told by the code creator.

Don't tell me you don't understand even one little bit of what I just said. If you want to use the older version of that code, then be my guest, but Bully's is so much better.

that +1 rule is applied/used when they're multiple controller addresses or activators together to avoid interference between addresses to prevent freezing

Wrong, it´s because you need to seperate the conditions. If you don´t add 1 the game wants you to press all activators at the same time which is not what you want...
Luckily there´s an alternate way to write it so that pre-schooler n00bs aren´t required to add 1. It will cost extra code lines, but that´s exactly what I´m going to put. Tired of it.

Trying not to get off topic here but I do like that CC000000 00000000 line idea. Does it replace the E000000..... line? Just wondering because THAT would make things a lot easier for someone wanting to make a switch for their hacks (press start to turn on and off hacks with a press of a button)

Regarding the new item hack code, I AM adding +1 to the controller address but it just won't work. I won't bring it up again in this thread, rather I'd post it in the program thread on the site. I hope everyone finds this tutorial in the OP helpful and maybe this should get sticky.

I´ve avoided the + 1s by increasing the code length for the trolls and n00bs below us.

The CC switch is easy, I mostly prefer it over any other switch.

no, the CC000000 00000000 line replaces the button deactivator/s

edit: with this line/s you can switch between different behaviors/functions if they're included in the code...

Without the E0000000 80008000 in-between.

You need the E0000000 80008000 line on every code that has a button activator. It tells the code handler that there isn't anymore stuff to activate.

You don't need to have the E0000000 80008000 line in the middle of the code if you use the CC000000 00000000 line, but you need it at the bottom of the code.

yeah you're right! I'm sorry, I just copy that part from my txt file and replaced the button activators with the CC lines
