Microsoft Will Open Source .NET Framework

Holy shit! We might actually be able to run so many programs that run only in .NET but be able to run them on Linux. I don't give a fuckin' rat's ass about Mac though! I've been waiting for this moment for so long! Perhaps we might be able to run Gecko.NET on Linux... and Mac?

Cool! The Windows only .NET apps suck since so many people build them and it locks people into using Windows at all times. Java is winning already, Microsoft is just trying to catch up a little.

These days nobody wants to stick to the same operating system forever in case it stays behind in technology or whatever therefore plans could change pretty quickly. Not being able to keep using any of the good-old applications is horrendous.
