Are you also shocked that some programs still crash these days? Vegas Pro, Football Manager 13 and YGOPro for example. Why the fuck are those programmers so crap?
In the programming languages C and C++ which are used a lot for major applications there's a manual way of deleting pointers to created objects. If the programmer deletes an object more than once or then tries to use it again it'll cause a memory error and most likely force the entire application to close itself with the message "Program no longer works" or something.
Well, in Java there's the garbage collection which automatically takes care of your "garbage" by removing objects that are no longer needed so applications can never crash due to invalid memory access. Yes, this works perfectly and never causes an issue.
Too bad people fail to fix their softwares to the current day.
Software in general is far from amazing, but obviously it's much better than many years ago, lol. There are so less good programmers out there.
Also my dad has been working with computers for 30 years and damn, it was way worse than what I'm having now xD
