Mega started sucking

So the time has come like I predicted where Mega will start to suck and here you go

I was downloading a few GBs of stuff and suddenly I got hit by a bandwidth exceeded message which made me wait over 3 hours before I could continue downloading. First indications of the hoster going down the drain because I think that this is new. In the image below the waiting time is down to 3 minutes already though 

Do you have a premium account or a free account? Or is this picture from your own Internet bandwidth? I've never had that come up before, but then again, I don't upload or even download a whole lot to MEGA and my upload speed is a shitty 60KB/s and my download speed is a manageable (for me) 500KB/s. How much bandwidth do you get?

I get 5MB/s with the free (non-logged in?) account. Now at 60% done I have 6 hours of waiting time. Fucking Mega. It takes the whole night now to finish this. Normally it would be like 30 minutes left so yeah, that's pretty bullshit 

I don't understand why for the very basics of the paid account, which is roughly $7.50 CAD (currently), you get such a huge difference in bandwidth. I only get 5 GB... every 8 fucking hours! I'm currently (trying to) download(ing) a 16 GB game. What would originally have taken me about 8 hours to download is going to take just over a day. Pathetic! Yet, you get the smallest package, and you get like 50x that amount. Doesn't make any sense. Fucking scam is what it is.

Yeah it's stupid. Never have encountered this myself. I just download from the browser without having to login.

People are also (illegally) downloading a lot of games from Mega I noticed and Mega has to make some money as well. It's actually understandable that Mega has those limits, they are still fair overall.

Uploading files with a few GBs can crash your browser though which kinda sucks so you have to split it into parts if you ever want to succeed at uploading. All because of the encryption which needs more RAM than regular file uploads.

Pirates galore in the comments. I didn't even need the bypass for games. It just so happened. However, this method seems to be patched now but I'm not constantly checking of course.

Just so n00bs who can't Google, among other n00bish things, don't dislike your video for it not working (anymore), you should update the description saying it's been patched, and no longer works.

Yep use a VPN. One thing is if you installed the Windows Client for the VPN would it work on the actual MEGA application?

I tried using a VPN, and found out you won't be able to login, because it must have something to do with MEGA's encryption or some shit. Also, there are now servers that can detect whether you're using a VPN or not.

Also, I've downloaded files before through the regular downloader in Chrome, and connected to a VPN while downloading, and it reset the connection, and the download failed, so I had to restart all over again.

I don't think it would work.
