well, it all depends on what people wants
in this case, if someone asks me for a famous character then may be possible that I already have a premade model and should be just a matter of adding their bones, physical properties, enviroment scene, their normal and ambiental lights/shadows, the total time of the animation and the execution times...then I need to begin to imagine something epic and start animating...
when I've done the full animation, then I need to build/render all together so at the end I can introduce them into the pre-final edigiting stage, which is where I add their color corrections, visual and physical effects and to fix some possible errors...arround of all this, I have/need to keep quality track for not delivering something crappy...
the end result is what the person has requested, that could be a conversion from one video format to another one, or in this case to gif
If you're a n00b or if you have all this knowledge but you're starting out, then it could take up to a month to finish that.
if you are advanced and experienced in this area, then you'll finish like in 2-3 days...
ALL THIS IS TALKING ABOUT STANDARD DEFINITION
if some one wants a HD project, then the Render time goes into a hell infinite hours hahaha unless you have a Nun Plus ultra PC
ofcourse it would not charge the two/three entire days so we actually end up losing but that's life hahahaha
you employ several hours to get seconds results
