Virtual Box let's you run alternate operating systems on your host operating system without installing a dual boot or replacing your current one.

For example, if your main OS is Windows you might want to have access to a Ubuntu system as well. Wink

Also, one thing to know is that you will need enough power (RAM, CPU, etc.) in order to use the OS smoothly. This is because it's technically an OS within an OS. It doesn't run an OS singularly, it has to run it using some of the power from your PC.

Yes, it works for almost every OS. Right from old ass operating systems, such as Xenix to modern operating systems Windows 7 or Widnows 8, even ones where you have to boot from a giant Floppy. xD
