I receive stupid e-mails once in a while where banks say that I have to confirm my information for safety reasons.
Well, a real bank would never ask that so you can tell it's some kind of scam where you're brought to a site with a virus or they'll use the login mask to save your information to steal your data.
You better either delete those e-mails right away or use something like Sandboxie to view the link in the browser if you really wanted to to make sure it can't do any changes to your system.
