I use Gecko for MW3 and I cannot understand how HEX is put into codes that require it. I convert from ASCII to HEX and then get confused on how I apply it to the code and what a place holder is to make a piece of code 8 characters long instead of only 4 or 6 characters long

Unused spaces become null bytes (00). That's all. Also try out my Gecko Code Wizard. It can do this completely by itself. It is an even better choice than the converters at Geckocodes.
