[TuT] Black Ops Longer Name Length

A lot of people have been asking me how I got my name so long lately. ^¿0Shadow^¿1@^¿0PSNPlaza The secret is a Name Toggler I use this one.

and you have to fill in the rest with 0's as I did there. So with a name toggler I can change the bytes to what I want or what it is actually set to in this case and it will allow this.

Simple little trick my gf found a while ago her and I have been using a lot lately just thought I'd post it.

It's the same for MW3 though (you can use a longer name than usually).

Nah, way longer actually like Shadow pointed out in the first post. Just as long as the Xs.

Then I am confused because I thought he said that you have to fill those in with 0's so it would allow

You fill in the remaining Xs with 0s. Take a look at the example below. Let's say you want your name to be "1234567890", so convert it to Hex. 313234353637383930 is what you get if converted to Hex. Put the Hex into the Xs, starting from left to right, top to bottom.

It only fills in part of the Xs. So, what do you have to do? Fill in the rest of the Xs with 0s. Like this:

If you have one of the two names with three full lines, you will have that which display stuck on your name: "i' sn", while if you add a line of zeros or just a space you will just have your name.

I understand how to make a modded name, I'm just confused as to how you make it longer than 24 characters

^¿0Shadow^¿1@^¿0PSNPlaza = 24 characters = 3 lines of X's

You use the name toggler. The name mod itself will only allow 3 rows of X's or values because that's how the game is writin. With the help of the name toggler you can make it longer. As I said a name mod will only allow this

but the name toggler by passes it in a way to allow it to be longer because it's not the first name the game picks up.

Lol okay I'll break it down for you. I'll start with the name mod. The name mod is used to change the Hex values in the name to what the code is telling you as you know. Now the byte value for the code that people have made is 20 or 64 characters. However the game will only allow you to have 50 characters. If you try to have anymore it will give you that loading spiny wheel when you go on multiplayer. Now the name toggler changes your name as you know and allows you to cycle or toggle through multiple names. So you have your name toggler here

As you know when you get online your second name in the toggler turns into your current name and your first name in the toggler is the one you can change it to. So in order to have a longer name just have your original name in the second part of the code and your extended name in the first part of the code. I'll use mine as a example. My normal name on Black Ops is ®°¿Shadow@BWH?°®

and my extended name the one I like to use because it has color in match and in lobby is ^¿0°®Shadow^¿1@^¿0BWH°®

Could you possibly extend your name even further by making the bytes bigger?

No, because then you'd be overwriting data that isn't for the name.

To know how much space you have you might want to check until where you've got only 0s. Make sure to leave at least one byte (00) untouched otherwise it'll link the name and the rest together. The game ends a piece of text when the 00 byte is found. Obviously 0s aren't a guarantee for the values to be "unused" but it usually won't cause any issues to overwrite some more of them.
