My first Pokémon game was Sapphire which is now about 11 years ago. I played it so much.
Omega Ruby for the 3DS is a remake of the original Ruby with updated graphics, online functions and such.
So far I have been liking the battle animations, sneaking up on hiding Pokémon, touch screen apps, experience when catching a Pokémon and various other tiny changes a lot.
However, the game is so easy that even a 5-year old could beat it. Obviously I'm a Pokémon veteran but if I could use 2 or 3 of my team Pokémon individually and effortlessly beat every gym leader to shreds and I also never had a single of my Pokémon to faint ever (without excessive training or healing items) something is definitely wrong with the difficulty, isn't it.
I only started playing today by the way but I do recommend this game, it's good-old Pokémon but even better. Some games only receive better graphics but that's not good enough. Luckily this game has more to offer to justify its existence.
The funny thing is that I skipped Pokémon X and Y because I didn't care. Now I rather play a 3rd gen remake than the 6th generation. I can't really explain why but probably because the mega evolution shit made it retarded. I might play it later on then though xD
