Mc Afee Won't Update

The virus scanner Mc Afee which I currently have installed came with Windows 8 and has a free 1 year license but now it won't update itself anymore. Since I didn't like it anyway I'm going to replace it with Bitdefender.

Or do you have any other recommendations?

BitDefender makes a lot work the machine; there is also that: Avira Antivir is more light.I never had problems with Avast.

Anybody having problems with ad-block or other stuff use this it block bad websites and ads of downloading stuff.

I use 2 virus protections. One is internet sercerty and the other is search and destroy.

I use AVG and SuperAntiSpyware. SAS is well known for it's ability to get rid of tracking cookies, but I don't think it should be used as your main anti virus because you have to pay to have it detect and remove viruses when they appear, which is something extremely imperative! That's why I use AVG with it as well. Spy Bot - Search and Destroy is what I used on my computers back in the day before I switched to SAS. It's best to have at least two anti viruses, but no more because from my experience they seem to "fight" with each other, if you know what I mean.

Ya the Spy Bot Search abd Destroy is what I use not only for my Lap Top but my gf's lap top as well. Even on the Wii I use a VPN/Proxey which is why when anyone trys to get my IP it gives off one from Maine. I also have folders that lead to nothing and some are loaded with batch files that will crash the computer if opened. I do it even on my old Mac. I created 7 different files that look like Chrome abd what not. However once you click it you spammed with a error message that won't go away no matter what button you click on. Or a error message that opens 3 error message windows every time you move the pointer even if it's just a milimetter it will still do it rendering the Desktop unavailible. It keeps people off my stuff :3

Yeah, just be careful to not fall into your own trap. xD I've done that before, but luckily it was on a piece of shit computer. lol

Anyway, Mc Afee updated itself again now after a virus scan or something so I won't be switching virus scanners or installing any other. I haven't got into any troubles so far and before neither since I was using F-Secure.
