Far Cry 1 Can Not Minimize Game?

I just recently pirated Far Cry 1 for PC and I wanted to hack the game myself with Cheat Engine because none of the trainers I used work, even though I was using the correct version. The trainers I used were made by some retard named h4x0r that I got from GameCopyWorld. I've used his trainers on other games and they didn't work either.

But anyways, I can't use Cheat Engine because it won'ty let me move the mouse out of the window, open up task manager, show desktop, shoew computer options, etc. This game is so fucking hard, I take two bullets on the easiest difficulty and I get blown to shit. So, I'm just like fuck this shit and that's why I'm posting this question in hope that someone can find a solution to this.

If you can't unfocus the game then how are you supposed to pause it and do something else?

I'm pretty sure you're missing something like pressing escape or control + alt + delete for the task manager.

That's what I'm trying to say. The only way to do something else is to quit the game by pressing ESC in the game and choosing Quit.

And thank you. I just tried Ctrl Alt Delete and it brought up the option to choose what I want to do. It's funny how I mentioned that in my first post, but never actually tried it. I'm always used to pressing Crtl Shift Esc because it's faster that way.
